Willo Labs: How a professor accesses the LTI

Willo Labs is an affordability partner that integrates JoVE content into campus learning environments under Inclusive Access (IA) or Equitable Access (EA) programs. Professors can assign JoVE content seamlessly within their LMS when their institution partners with Willo Labs. Follow the steps below for your LMS.

🎓 Canvas

  1. Open your Canvas course
  2. Go to the Modules section
  3. Create a new module or choose an existing one
  4. Click the “+” (Add) button inside the module
  5. Select External Tool
  6. Choose Follett Discover or Willo Labs
  7. Click “Add Publisher Links”
  8. Select JoVE from the list of available publishers (when applicable)
  9. The JoVE LTI interface will open — proceed to select your content

🎓 Blackboard

  1. Open your Blackboard course
  2. Go to Content or Content Area in the course menu
  3. Click Build Content
  4. Select Follett Discover or Willo Labs from the list of tools
  5. Select JoVE from the list of available publishers (when applicable)
  6. Click “Add Publisher Links”
  7. The JoVE LTI interface will load — select the content based on your adopted ISBN

🎓 Blackboard Ultra

  1. Open your Blackboard Ultra course
  2. In the left menu, go to Content
  3. Click the “+” button where you want to add the content
  4. Select Content Market
  5. Choose Follett Discover or Willo Labs from the list of tools
  6. Select JoVE from the list of available publishers (when applicable)
  7. Click “Add Publisher Links”
  8. The JoVE LTI interface will load — select the content based on your adopted ISBN

🎓 Moodle

  1. Open your Moodle course
  2. Turn editing on
  3. Click “Add an activity or resource” in the section you want
  4. Choose External Tool
  5. In the configuration screen, select the pre-configured tool (Follett/Willo Labs)
  6. Click “Add Publisher Links”
  7. Select JoVE from the list of available publishers (when applicable)
  8. The JoVE LTI window will appear — select and insert your content

🎓 Brightspace (D2L)

  1. Open your Brightspace course
  2. Go to the Content section
  3. Choose the module where you want to add JoVE content
  4. Click Add Existing
  5. Select Follett Discover or Willo Labs
  6. Click “Add Publisher Links” when prompted
  7. Select JoVE from the list of available publishers (when applicable)
  8. The JoVE LTI interface will appear — choose the content linked to your adoption
