Integrating JoVE videos and other resources into Blackboard is straightforward. Below are three primary methods to add JoVE content to your courses:
1. Embedding JoVE Videos
You can embed individual JoVE videos directly into your Blackboard course content.
- Steps:
- Log into your JoVE account. If you don’t have one, sign up at JoVE Account and select the “Professor/Instructor” role.
- On the JoVE website, select the video you want to embed.
- Click the "<> EMBED" button below the video and copy the embed code.
- Log into Blackboard and navigate to your desired course.
- Click on 'Content' in the left panel.
- Select 'Build Content' and choose 'Item'.
- In the text editor, click the '<> HTML' button and paste the embed code.
- Click 'Submit', and the video will be embedded in your course.
2. Loading a Common Cartridge File
A common cartridge allows you to import multiple JoVE videos at once into your Blackboard course.
- Steps:
- Request a common cartridge from your JoVE Curriculum Specialist by emailing CustomerSuccess@jove.com.
- Log into Blackboard, go to 'Packages and Utilities', and click 'Import Package'.
- Select the common cartridge file from your computer.
- Click 'Select All' for course materials and then 'Submit'.
- The videos will now appear in your course for easy access.
3. Using JoVE LTI Tool
The Learning Tool Interoperability (LTI) tool provides a more immersive experience by integrating JoVE videos and playlists directly into your Blackboard course.
- Steps for LTI 1.3 Tool:
- Log into Blackboard and navigate to 'Content'.
- Select 'Build Content' and choose 'JoVE LTI Tool 1.3'.
- Browse and select videos, playlists, or quizzes from the JoVE content library.
- Click 'Submit' to integrate the content into your course.
