How to Select a Language?

JoVE offers language options for both its website interface and the video content, including audio and subtitles. Below, we’ll guide you through the two aspects of language selection: changing the website language and adjusting the language settings for video audio and subtitles.


1. Changing the Website Language

JoVE supports multiple languages for the website interface, allowing users to navigate and interact with the platform in their preferred language.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Visit the JoVE Website
    Go to the JoVE homepage by entering www.jove.com in your browser.

  2. Locate the Language Selector
    At the top of the page,  in the upper-right corner, you will find a dropdown menu with the languages in which JoVE is currently available.

  3. Select Your Preferred Language
    Click on the language dropdown and choose your preferred language from the list. The entire website interface will change to the selected language, making it easier to navigate and use JoVE in that language.


2. Changing Video Language (Audio and Subtitles)

JoVE videos offer language options for audio and subtitles, which can be adjusted to your preference depending on the available languages for that specific video.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Play the Video
    Open the JoVE video you want to watch by navigating through the video library or using the search function and click play.

  2. Locate the Language Settings for the Video

    • Look for the audio settings icon on the video player.HC_VideoLanguage.png
  3. Change the Audio Language
    You can scroll to your preferred language and select your preferred language for Audio

  4. Change the Subtitle Language

    You can scroll to your preferred language and select your preferred language for Subtitles

Troubleshooting

  • Unavailable Language:
    If the website or video doesn't show your preferred language, that particular content may not be supported at the moment. You can check with JoVE support for more information or check back for future updates.

  • Subtitle Issues:
    If the subtitles are not appearing or are not syncing properly, refresh the page or check your internet connection. You can also try watching the video in a different browser.
