How to Mark a Video as Favorite?

Marking a video as a favorite in JoVE allows you to easily access videos that are important to you or that you wish to revisit later. Follow these simple steps to add a video to your favorites list.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Sign in to Your JoVE Account
    Before you can mark a video as a favorite, make sure you're signed in to your JoVE account. If you're not signed in, follow these instructions to sign in.

  2. Find the Video
    Navigate to the video you want to mark as a favorite by browsing the JoVE library or using the search function on the JoVE website.

  3. Locate the 'Save' Icon

    • Once you are on the video page, look for the save icon. This is located below the video player for both Educational and Research content.

4. Click the 'Save' Icon

    • To add the video to your favorites, click the save icon. The icon will change color to indicate that the video has been successfully marked as a favorite.

Accessing Your Favorite Videos

  1. Go to Your Profile or Account Page
    After marking videos as favorites, you can view your saved list by navigating to your Profile or Account page. Look for the Favorite Articles section.

  2. Click on Favorites
    Find the Favorites tab in your profile, where all your saved videos will be listed for easy access.

Removing a Video from Favorites

  1. Go to the Video Page or Favorites Section
    To remove a video from your favorites, return to the video page or visit your Favorites section in your profile.

  2. Click the Filled Favorite Icon

    If a video is already marked as a favorite, the save icon will be filled in. Click the filled icon again to remove the video from your favorites list.

Troubleshooting

  • Favorite Icon Not Showing
    If you do not see the save icon, ensure you are signed in to your account. The save feature is only available to registered and signed-in users.

  • Unable to Access Favorites
    If you’re having trouble viewing your favorite videos, refresh the page or check your internet connection. If the problem persists, contact JoVE support at support@jove.com.
